With MWC 2017 getting underway, you can expect a lot of news in the mobile device segment from us over the next few days, with the first report coming from Samsung, who have announced the Galaxy Tab S3 and new Galaxy Book which enters into a growing 2-in-1 market segment. Taking a look first at the Galaxy Tab S3 and we can see that Samsung have not cut any corners here with a Super AMOLED display featuring a 2048 x 1536 resolution QXGA display and quad core Snapdragon 820 processor running at 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz. While many might not consider the S3 to be a huge step forward in terms of improvements, we are glad to see that Samsung has stuck to their formula and rather refined an already excellent product which was the Galaxy Tab S2. Below is the full list of specifications and video for the new Galaxy Tab S3:
Moving on to the next offering form Samsung, and what has to be their most exciting, is the announcement of their Galaxy Book, which could be Microsoft’s biggest threat to their Surface range of computers. The new range comes in two variants, the 10.6” and 12” Galaxy Book, with the top spec 12” also featuring Samsung’s Super AMOLED display that comes with a 2160 x 1440 resolution display, and 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor running at 3.1GHz. What has to be it’s biggest selling point, is that this is a fully functioning laptop with powerful specs that comes in a package weighing only 754g. This makes the Galaxy Book incredibly portable, which paired up with a claimed 10.5hr battery life and fast charging, means you should never find yourself worrying about battery life.
Both ranges have yet to be given an official release date or pricing, but as soon as we have more information, we will let you know.
